Forest Institute Student Groups Committed to Diversity
CAPS (Child & Adolescent Psychology Student Group) - This group focuses on counseling children and adolescents and any issues which may arise when working with this age group.
CNS (Committee of Neuropsychology Students) - This group focuses on any issues that you may encounter working as a Nueropsychologist. This would entail many disabilities that would be more brain focused and including people who have experienced traumatic brain injuries.
Collaborative Family Health Student Group - This group focuses on issues dealing with families and couples.
Continuum (Formerly GLEE) - This group focuses on issues surrounding gender identity and sexual identity.
FACE (Forest Alliance for Cultural Experience) - This group focuses on various cultural issues that include race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc. SCAR (Study Circles Against Racism) is a subcomponent of FACE and is incorporated into this club.
Forensic Committee of Student Psychologists - This group focuses on dealing with the offender population and the unique culture associated with the prison environment and working in this environment.
Geropsychology Students (GPS) - This group focuses on counseling older adults and any issues which may arise when working with this population.
Military Psychology Student Group - This group focuses on counseling and working with clients who are in the military. Discussions and meetings include any issues which may arise when working with this population.
Sex Therapy Student Group - This group focuses on individual’s sexual preferences and dealing with these issues as a therapist.
