Externship Program

Forest Institute, in a partnership with Burrell Behavioral Health, has an externship program to provide real world employment opportunities in mental health for qualified graduate students enrolled in Forest programs.

The one-year, paid externships while not part of Forest academic programs will, nevertheless, provide externs with valuable work experience in mental health that will make them more competitive in the workforce, and make it easier for participants to cover tuition or living expenses.

The 20 hour per week externships earn $14 per hour.  Students must be approved by their program dean before acceptance

  • Must be admitted to an academic program or be current full-time student.
  • Must have a car, and be prepared to drive clients in vehicle.
