Dr. Skrade Named to Board of Isabel's House

Forest's President, Dr. Mark Skrade, was recently named to the Board of Directors for Isabel's House.

The organization, also known as the Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks, is a temporary emergency shelter which protects children by providing a safe environment at a time when the chances of abuse and/or neglect in the home are increased.

"I am particularly honored to have been nominated to serve on the Isabel’s House – Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks, Board of Directors," said Dr. Skrade.

While Isabel's House staff and volunteers' role is to protect the child during the time of crisis the organization believes it is equally important to educate the parent and connect them with community resources to get them the help they need, building stronger families and attempting to break the cycle of abuse.

"Since opening our doors, we have hosted over a thousand children and helped hundreds of families at Isabel's House find a successful full path to keeping their children safe while preserving their family's health and stability," said Isabel's House Board President Lagena Scott.

Isabel's House Board of Directors acts as the front line within the community: creating dialogues with community members about its mission, goals, and accomplishments.

"It’s vision and values; those of its staff, administrators, supporters and volunteers and board align closely with my personal and professional values," said Dr. Skrade.  "I am hopeful that I might have a positive impact on our community through service on the board.”
