Forest Students Present at MOPA Conference
Over the weekend of March 23rd and 24th, Forest students attended the annual Missouri Psychological Association Conference in St. Louis.
"MOPA provided
students with an opportunity to network and connect with professionals around
the state. Being able to disseminate research, literature reviews, and other
doctoral level presentation materials during the poster sessions increased my
experience as a presenter, and serves as an excellent addition to my
CV," said PsyD student Gage Stermensky. He was among several who presented at the conference.
We learned this week that several Forest students won in the Literature Review poster category.
• Amber Marcucci
and Jessica Wood (1st place) - "Sexting"
• Bridget Beachy
and David Bauman (2nd place) - "Acceptance and Committment Therapy for
PTSD"
• Sarah
Beckmann (3rd Place) - "Effects of Parent Training on Childhood Disruptive Behaviors"
"It
was a very rewarding experience to talk with professionals about our ideas
and perspectives regarding treatment options for PTSD," said PsyD student and presenter Bridget Beachy. "Acceptance
and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is such an
exciting therapy and is gaining empirical evidence at a fast pace."
