Open Invitation to CFHA Conference

The theme of this year's Collaborative Family Healthcare Association Conference is "Accelerating Adoption of collaborative Care -- Reaching the Tipping Point."

The annual conference will be held in Philadelphia, PA between October 27th and October 29th.

The conference is open to students, clinicians, faculty, and alumni.

"The conference will support efforts to develop high performing teams as we create Patient Centered Medical Homes and integrated health systems to serve families and communities," the organization said in an open invitation.

This year's plenary sessions include:

  • Jeff Brenner MD, "Data Drive Collaborative Care"- Dr. Brenner is the founder of the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers. His "Hotspotting" healthcare model was the focus of a recent Atul Gawande article in the New Yorker.
  • Denise Rodgers MD and Arlene Katz EdD, "Did Anyone Talk with the Women? Making Space for the Voices of Patients, Families and Communities"- This conference-wide dialogue will further our understand of why and how to collaborate with those we serve.
  • Kavita Patel MD and Frand DeGruy MD, "From Grassroots to Tree Tops: Policy and Practice as a Collaborative Conversation in the New World"- These thought leaders will inspire clinician involvement in fomenting healthcare change form the community level to the national level.
There are also more than 90 break-out sessions and pre-conference workshops that will be of interest to psychologists, family therapist, social workers, and counselors.
