What made you choose Forest Institute over other institutions?

I am originally from this area and I really wanted to attend a graduate school at a facility that would allow me to feel at home. I also enjoy being able to pop into a professor’s office any time I have a question.

How does this program compare to your expectations?

I expected to obtain an excellent education, and I believe that is what I am obtaining.

What surprised you the most about Forest?

The relationships that I have been able to form with professors have been surprising to me. Being able to sit down with my professors and work one on one with them has been an amazing experience. The professors are wonderful and truly want the students to succeed.

Are there any particular challenges you’ve encountered?

Being a non-traditional graduate student has had its challenging times. School has become much more competitive among the students than it once was.

Do you recall a funny story about your experience at Forest?

During summer Sport Psych functions, cooking food on a grill that is set up properly is best advised.

What do you like most about living in Springfield, Missouri?

I enjoy Springfield for a number of reasons. First, no matter where you live in town, you can get to the other side of town in 15 minutes. Second, St. Louis and Kansas City are only a few hours away. Third, Springfield has an airport!

Do you have any "words of wisdom” for individuals considering graduate school (or your chosen concentration)?

Trust the process.
