David Anderson Receives Army’s Health Professions Scholarship
David Anderson,
Forest student, was commissioned into the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) on Thursday, August 21. He received the Health Professions Scholarship, which is a 2-year scholarship that covers tuition, fees, books and a $1900 per month stipend.
Anderson will enter the Army as a clinical psychologist and second lieutenant. He will also not have to go through the match process as he has an automatic internship at one of four Army Medical Centers -
Fort
Gordon in
Georgia,
Walter
Reed
Army
Medical
Center in DC,
Tripler
Army
Medical
Center in
Hawaii, or
Brooke
Army
Medical
Center in
Texas. Once he graduates,
Anderson will be a captain in the Army.
Captain Connie Hansen and Sergeant First Class Victor Sims attended the commissioning along with
Anderson’s wife and Dr. Mark Skrade, president of Forest Institute. Other
Forest students to recently receive the scholarship are Robert Coffman, Brent Anderson, Isaac Lopez, Wesley Stokes and Leah Hanson.
