Dr. Baker and Husband Named "Power Couple" by 417 Magazine
Dr. Jennifer Baker was recently honored, along with her husband of 37 years, Paul, by 417 Magazine, as being one of ten, local "power couples."
According to 417 Magazine, the distinction acknowledges "the most influential, powerful and best-matched pairs" within 417-land. "What they all have in common is a strong relationship and mutual support for each other's many achievements."
The couple is celebrated for their involvement with adult education and their contribution to facilitating healthy relationships within the community.
Their involvement spans from their church, where they both teach the class The Me I Want to Be, to the Forest project, Operation Us, where they lead classes for the program Hitched and Happy.
When asked about the honor, Dr. Baker said, "it was nice to see they didn't define power as wealth or clout, but as influence. My hope is that this encourages each of us to see where we might make a difference within our own sphere."
"It was also encouraging to see that of the other couples honored, who they are together is greater than who they are apart," said Baker.
Please join us on congratulating Dr. Baker and Paul on this honor.
