The Give a Day Program Hosts its First Event of 2011

The first Give a Day program event of 2011 took place this Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at the Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks.
Participants
assisted with the Family Dinner Program, a service that provides meals
to families with children from pre-birth through age 21 who are
undergoing treatment at a Springfield medical facility.
The
event, which is sponsored by the Give a Day volunteer program, gives
graduate students, faculty and staff within the Forest community, a
chance to volunteer their time and efforts to local organizations in one
day increments.
"There was a great turn out and all of the
tables were full,” said Jamie Bell, Student Council secretary and
doctoral student at Forest. "You could tell they appreciated our
efforts.”
The next Give a Day event will be in February.
