CE Workshop slated for March.

The Center for Professional Solutions is hosting a continuing education workshop entitled Endometriosis: Working with Women and Couples to be presented by Kristina S. Brown, PhD, LMFT, on Friday, March 20, 2009, 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Kristina S. Brown, PhD, LMFT, is an Assistant Professor at The School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute and a licensed marriage and family therapist. Dr. Brown has researched the effect of dyspareunia due to endometriosis on the couple relationship. She has looked at the impact of this chronic illness on both the woman and on her relationship. Dr. Brown has presented this research at The World Congress on Endometriosis Conference, the Missouri Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Annual Conference, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the Collaborative Family Healthcare Conferences. She also works with women and couples with endometriosis and other chronic illness as a licensed marriage and family therapist.
 
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  1. Describe what endometriosis is including common symptoms
  2. Determine and assess the impact endometriosis has on the woman’s quality of life
  3. Determine and assess the impact endometriosis has on the couple relationship
  4. Identify strategies to use when working with women and couples with endometriosis
  5. Discuss ways to encourage collaboration between medical and mental health professionals in the treatment of women with endometriosis
