Forest alumni, Robert M. Mindrup, authored an article that was
published in the Journal of Ethics & Cultural Diversity in Social
Work.
In the article, titled "White Privilege and Multicultural Counseling
Competence: The Influence of Field of Study, Sex and Racial/Ethnic
Exposure,” Mindrup explores the association between white privilege
attitudes and multicultural counseling competencies among white
European-American graduate students in clinical psychology and social
work.
According to the article summary, the "results revealed a significant
positive association between white privilege attitudes and
multicultural counseling competencies.” It goes on to read that "social
work students reported significantly greater levels of white privilege
awareness in comparison to clinical psychology students.”
