2006-2007 Forest Institute Faculty Service Award

Dr. Stephanie Wood was the recipient of the 2006-2007 Forest Institute Faculty Service Award presented on August 1, 2007. Dr. Wood served as an adjunct faculty member from 2001 to 2003, when she was appointed full-time Core Faculty and Director of the Integrated Health Care certificate program and Pain Management certification. As a licensed Psychologist, she has provided clinical supervision for Forest students since 2001.
 
Dr. Wood has taught many different courses at Forest over the past 6 years, including Interviewing and Psychosocial History, Report Writing, Pain Management courses (PSY 893, 894, 895, 896), Health Psychology, Medical Psychology, Health Care Delivery and Administration, Business Basics, and Foundations of Relationship Development. She has consistently received positive feedback on her work in the classroom and in practicum. Dr. Wood has served on many faculty committees, both as a Core Faculty member and as Faculty President-Elect in 2005, Faculty President in 2006, and as ex officio in 2007. She continues to serve Forest as Associate Dean, which she was appointed to in 2005. For the 2006-2007 academic year, Dr. Wood was the primary instructor for 24 credit hours of course work, provided practicum supervision through the Kitchen Medical Clinic, advised students on thesis/dissertation projects, assisted with preparation of the response to our APA accreditation site visit, and served as the chair of the comprehensive exam task force, among other things. In the midst of all this work, she also managed to graduate in December with a Masters degree in Health Administration from Missouri State University, which she completed with a 4.0 GPA.
 
Dr. Wood is a role model in her work ethic, integrity, and commitment to lifelong learning. She is also a role model in her commitment to serving the Forest community, which is why we are pleased to give her this award. Congratulations Dr. Wood!
