Primary Care Psychology

The three broad goals for primary care are: 1) to produce healthier patients; 2) create more efficient resource expenditures; and 3) remove barriers to access. Research has shown the primary care setting is a preferred venue for integrating psychological and physical health care services.

Students will develop proficiency in diverse clinical skill areas including treatment compliance, management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes, lifestyle changes and pain management.

The Primary Care Psychology concentration at Forest is comprised of the following courses, plus practicum in a related area.
