The Curriculum

Requirements

 

The PsyD degree requires 109 hours of basic core courses in the psychological sciences and 17 elective credit hours as shown in the table below. The typical student (those who do not hold a master’s degree in a mental health field at the time of first matriculation) will be required to complete a master’s degree en-route to the PsyD. En route Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology (MACL), which prepares graduates to work with individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings such as private practice, hospitals and clinics and meets the educational requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri. Matriculating students who have previously earned a master’s degree in a mental health field will construct an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to reflect completion of the Core Course Requirements, and approved Transfer Credit.


All students must complete program requirements, including internship, within seven (7) years of first matriculation into the doctoral program.
